Sofra est née d'un constat simple : le meilleur repas que beaucoup d'entre nous ont jamais mangé n'était pas au restaurant il a été dégusté chez quelqu'un. Le tajine d'un voisin, les pâtes de la grand-mère d'un ami, le curry du week-end d'un collègue. La cuisine maison a une profondeur que les cuisines commerciales atteignent rarement.Sofra started with a simple observation: the best meal many of us have ever eaten wasn’t in a restaurant it was in someone’s home. A neighbor’s tagine, a friend’s grandmother’s pasta, a colleague’s weekend curry. Nous avons aussi constaté que des cuisiniers à domicile talentueux capables de rivaliser sans peine avec des chefs professionnels n'avaient aucun moyen d'atteindre des clients, aucune infrastructure de paiement et aucun outil pour faire vivre même une petite activité culinaire.
